Choosing a theme
Manga Vault has five color themes that change the app’s gradient, accent colors, and overall vibe. Violet is included for everyone; the other four require PRO.
The themes
Violet (FREE)
The default theme. A soft violet-purple gradient. Manga Vault’s signature look.
Ocean (PRO)
Cool blue-cyan gradient. Crisp and calming.
Sakura (PRO)
Soft pink gradient. Cherry-blossom-inspired.
Ember (PRO)
Warm orange-red gradient. Energetic and bold.
Matcha (PRO)
Green gradient. Earthy and fresh.
How to change themes
- Open Settings.
- Tap Theme.
- The theme picker shows previews of all five themes.
- Tap a theme to apply it.
The app’s gradient header colors, accent buttons, and various other elements update immediately.
Where themes affect the app
- Gradient headers (Home, Library, Browse, Social, Settings, etc.)
- Accent buttons and primary action colors
- Some highlight elements (selected tabs, active filters)
- Releases Spotlight banner gradient
The theme doesn’t affect:
- Manga cover art (always shown as-is)
- Photos and uploaded images
- Standard text and background colors (handled by light/dark mode)
PRO theme upgrade prompt
If you tap a PRO theme on FREE, an upgrade modal appears explaining the theme is part of PRO. You can:
- Upgrade to PRO to unlock all four PRO themes.
- Pick a free theme (Violet) instead.
- Cancel and stay on your current theme.
What if PRO expires
If you had a PRO theme set when your subscription expired:
- Your saved theme preference is preserved.
- The app falls back to Violet for display.
- When you renew PRO, your theme is restored automatically.
Themes and dark mode
Themes work alongside light/dark mode. Each theme has light and dark variants — they automatically adapt based on whether you have dark mode on. See Dark mode.
Saving and syncing
Theme preference syncs across your devices via your Manga Vault account. Change the theme on your phone, your tablet picks it up next sync.
Tip: Match your mood
Some users change themes based on mood or season — Sakura in spring, Ember in autumn, Matcha in summer. There’s no rule; pick what feels right today.
Custom themes
We don’t currently support custom themes (user-defined gradients). The five built-in themes are it. Let us know if custom themes would be valuable to you.
