The “Complete Your Series” section

Complete Your Series is a section in the Browse tab that highlights series where you own some volumes but are missing others. It’s the easiest way to figure out what to buy next.

What it shows

For each partial series in your collection, you’ll see:

  • The series name
  • Cover art
  • A badge showing how many volumes are missing (e.g., “5 missing”)
  • Tap to see exactly which volume numbers you’re missing

How “missing” is calculated

We compare the volumes you own against our catalog of every volume that exists for that series. The badge counts volumes from our catalog that you don’t have.

For example, if a series has 10 volumes published and you own 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, you have 5 missing (volumes 4, 7, 8, 9, 10).

Why it’s accurate now

Earlier versions of this section over-counted missing volumes for ongoing series — if you only owned Vol. 6 of a 7-volume series, it would tell you “5 missing” assuming Vols. 1–5 must exist. We fixed this — we now check our catalog before counting, so missing volumes are real entries we have data on.

Tapping a series

Tap a card to open the series page. From there:

  • Each volume is shown as Owned, Missing, or Wishlisted.
  • Missing volumes can be added to your wishlist with one tap.
  • You can also tap any missing volume to see its details (cover, ISBN, MSRP, release date).

What if there’s a missing volume I can’t find anywhere?

For out-of-print or hard-to-find volumes:

  • Check the volume detail page for purchase links to retailers (when available).
  • Browse secondary markets like eBay, Mandarake, or used book stores.
  • Some series have omnibus editions that bundle the missing volumes — search for the series and look at variant editions.

What about ongoing series?

If a series is still being published, “missing” only counts already-released volumes. Future volumes that haven’t released yet aren’t counted as missing — they show up in the Releases calendar instead.

Removing a series from the section

You can’t directly remove a series from Complete Your Series — it’s automatically derived from your collection. To stop seeing it there, either:

  • Complete the collection (own every volume).
  • Delete all your owned volumes from that series (if you don’t actually collect it anymore).

Why I see series I don’t recognize

If you scanned a volume by mistake or own a one-shot that got categorized as part of a multi-volume series, that series might appear here. Tap into it and check — sometimes catalog data needs correction. Contact support if you spot an error.
