Comparing collections (In Common / Unique tabs)

When you visit a friend’s profile, you can compare your collections — see which series you both own, which they have that you don’t, and vice versa.

Where to find the comparison

  1. Open the Social tab → Friends → tap a friend.
  2. Their profile page opens.
  3. Look for the Overview, In Common, and Unique tabs.
  4. Tap In Common or Unique.

In Common tab

Shows series both of you own at least one volume of.

For each shared series, you’ll see:

  • Cover art
  • Series name
  • “You: X vols · They: Y vols” — how many volumes each of you owns

Sorted alphabetically by default; sort options include “Most volumes” to see the biggest shared collections first.

Unique tab

Two sections:

“Only in your collection”

Series you own but your friend doesn’t.

”Only in their collection”

Series they own but you don’t.

This is great for discovering new series via your friends — if they have something you don’t, tap to see details and add it to your wishlist.

Tapping a series

  • From In Common — Opens the series’ detail page (your view of it, since you both own it).
  • From “Only in your collection” — Opens your view (you own it).
  • From “Only in their collection” — Opens a bottom sheet showing the volume’s details from the catalog. Tap Add to Wishlist to track it on your end.

Searching and sorting comparisons

Each tab supports:

  • Search — Type to filter to series whose name contains your query.
  • Sort — Alphabetical (A-Z) or “Most Volumes” first.

Search and sort apply across both In Common and Unique. Tab counts in the header show how many results.

Privacy and comparison

Comparison is subject to your friend’s privacy settings:

  • Allow Comparison must be on (default: on) for them to allow you to compare with them.
  • Show Collection must be on (default: on) for the comparison data to be available.

If their Allow Comparison is off, you’ll see a message: “Comparison unavailable — this user’s collection is private.”

You can return the favor — your privacy toggles control whether they can compare with you.

Counts on the Overview tab

The Overview tab on a friend’s profile shows a quick “Series in Common” highlight card with the count, even before you click into the comparison tabs. This count is the same as the In Common tab’s total.

Tip: Use comparison for gift ideas

If you’re shopping for a manga-loving friend, the Only in their collection view tells you what they already have, helping you avoid duplicate gifts.

The Only in your collection view tells you what you have that they don’t — which is great if you want to recommend a series you love.
