Searching your library
Use the search bar at the top of the Library tab to find specific volumes by title or series.
How to search
- Tap the search bar at the top of the Library tab.
- Type any portion of a title or series name.
- The list filters as you type — no need to press Enter.
To clear the search, tap the X icon in the search bar (or delete the text manually).
What search matches
- Volume titles — including alternate titles and subtitles.
- Series names — both the canonical name and known variants.
- Author names are not currently searchable from the Library bar (we may add this in the future).
Search is case-insensitive — typing “berserk” matches “Berserk” and “BERSERK” equally.
Search and filters
Search works on top of your active filters. So if you’ve filtered to Owned, then search “tokyo”, you’ll see only Owned volumes whose title or series contains “tokyo”.
Search tips
- Partial words work. Searching “ber” finds Berserk, Bermuda Triangle Colorful Pastrale, etc.
- Multiple words work. Searching “spy family” finds Spy x Family.
- Special characters are ignored. “Spy x Family” matches whether you search “spy x family” or “spy family”.
- No fuzzy matching. Typos won’t match — “berserk” finds Berserk; “bersek” doesn’t.
Searching the catalog vs searching your library
The Library search only searches what you own or wishlist. To search Manga Vault’s full catalog (including volumes not in your collection), use the search bar in the Browse tab instead.
Empty results
If your search returns no matches:
- Check spelling.
- Try a shorter portion of the title.
- Verify your filters aren’t excluding what you’re looking for (e.g., if you’ve filtered to Status: Owned but the volume is on your Wishlist).
If you’re searching for a volume you definitely own and it doesn’t show up, force a sync from Settings → Catalog Version. The volume may have failed to sync from another device.
