Coverage details

English

The most complete language in our catalog. Includes:

  • All mainstream Viz, Yen Press, Kodansha USA, Seven Seas, and Square Enix releases.
  • Most TOKYOPOP, Dark Horse, and small-press releases.
  • Older out-of-print English manga (varying coverage).

Most users primarily collecting English-language manga will find Manga Vault matches their full collection.

French, German, Italian

Strong coverage of mainstream series from major publishers in each market (Glénat, Pika, Kana for French; Carlsen, Tokyopop GmbH for German; Star Comics, Planet Manga for Italian, etc.).

If you collect mainstream French/German/Italian releases, most should be in our catalog. Niche or older volumes may not be.

Spanish (Spain and Latin America)

Both Iberian Spanish and Latin American Spanish editions covered. Coverage is strong for recent releases from major publishers (Norma Editorial, Editorial Ivrea, Panini Manga España, Planeta Cómic, etc.).

Portuguese (Brazil)

Growing coverage of Panini, JBC, NewPOP and other Brazilian publishers. Mainstream releases generally covered; older or niche may not be.

Polish

Studio JG, Waneko, and other Polish publishers are represented. Coverage is improving as we add more.

Japanese

Native Japanese editions (Shueisha, Kodansha JP, Shogakukan, etc.) are growing. Coverage focuses on widely-read mainstream series first.

Languages not currently covered

Some languages aren’t yet in our unified catalog:

  • Korean
  • Vietnamese
  • Indonesian
  • Thai
  • Russian
  • And others

For volumes in these languages, you can:

  • Track via manual entries — Library entries with custom title and metadata.
  • Request that we add coverage for these languages.

We use feedback to prioritize new language work.

Edition variants within a language

Multiple editions of the same series may exist within a language:

  • Standard paperback
  • Hardcover or deluxe edition
  • Box sets and omnibus editions
  • Special / limited editions

Each has its own ISBN and is tracked separately. Cover art may differ between editions.

Box sets and omnibus

Box sets and omnibus editions usually have their own ISBNs. We try to catalog them but coverage isn’t as comprehensive as individual volumes. Submit requests for ones we’re missing.

How to scan an international edition

Just scan the barcode like normal. The ISBN tells us what edition it is — no setup needed. See Scanning international editions.

Why we don’t have a language preference

Each ISBN maps to a specific edition (publisher + language + format). The ISBN is the source of truth — no language preference is needed in the app.

Help us expand coverage

Two ways to help:

  1. Request volumes — When you scan something we don’t have, tap Request. Each request improves coverage.
  2. Report errors — If a cataloged volume has wrong cover, title, or other metadata, let us know.

App interface language

Note: Manga Vault’s interface itself is currently in English only. Localized app interfaces are planned for the future.

Help center language

This Help Center is also currently English only.

Tip

Mixed-language collections work great in Manga Vault. Many collectors enjoy seeing their international acquisitions side-by-side with their English collection.
