MV Manga Vault Help

The achievements system

Manga Vault has a built-in achievements system that rewards you for using the app — adding volumes, scanning, reading, connecting with friends, and more. Achievements are free for all users.

How to access

Open the Social tab → scroll to the Achievements section, or tap View All Achievements to open the full Achievements screen.

The six categories

CategoryWhat it rewards
CollectionAdding volumes, completing series, hitting milestones (e.g., 50 volumes).
ScanningScanning your first volume, scanning streaks, batch-scanning.
SocialAdding friends, accepting requests, comparing collections, lending.
ReadingMarking volumes as Reading or Completed, logging pages, re-reading.
DedicationDaily streaks, sustained engagement over time.
SpecialOne-off or seasonal achievements (rare).

Each achievement has

  • Name (e.g., “First Page Turned”)
  • Description of what it rewards
  • Icon
  • Rarity tier (color-coded — common to legendary)
  • XP reward (more XP for rarer achievements)
  • Progress bar (when locked, showing how close you are to unlocking)

How to unlock

You unlock achievements by performing the qualifying action. Most are automatic — when you scan your 50th volume, the achievement fires automatically.

A few examples:

  • Add 1 owned volume → “First Volume Owned”
  • Add 50 owned volumes → “Bookworm” (or similar tier)
  • Mark your first reading progress → “First Page Turned”
  • Complete 5 series → “Series Completionist”
  • Add your first friend → “Friend of Friends”
  • Lend your first volume → “Generous Reader”

The full list is in the Achievements screen.

Unlocking notification

When you unlock an achievement, a celebratory modal appears in the app: “Achievement Unlocked! [Name]”. The modal shows the icon, name, description, and XP earned. Tap Awesome! to dismiss.

This modal also shows the next time you open the Social tab if there are pending unlock notifications.

Earning XP

Each achievement awards XP (experience points). XP contributes to your overall level — see Levels and XP.

Higher-tier achievements (rarer ones) award more XP. Common achievements award ~25 XP; legendary achievements can award 200+ XP.

Achievement tabs

The Achievements screen has filter tabs:

  • All — Every achievement.
  • Unlocked — Achievements you’ve earned, sorted by most-recently unlocked.
  • Locked — Achievements you haven’t earned yet, sorted by progress (closest to unlocking first).
  • Category filters — Filter to a specific category (Collection, Scanning, etc.).

Header stats

At the top of the Achievements screen, you’ll see:

  • Unlocked count (e.g., 12 of 50)
  • Total XP earned
  • Completion percentage

A motivating set of numbers — many users find achievements add a layer of fun goals on top of their core collecting activity.

Locked achievements with progress bars

Locked achievements show progress bars when they’re trackable. For example, “Add 50 volumes” might show “32 / 50” with a progress bar.

Some achievements have hidden criteria that don’t show progress until close to unlocked.

Re-earnable?

Each achievement is unlocked once. You can’t re-earn the same achievement — but new achievements may be added in app updates.

Sharing

Some achievements are share-friendly — you can take a screenshot of an unlock modal or your Achievements screen. We may add native sharing in a future update.

Tip

Don’t optimize for achievements. Just use the app the way you naturally would, and achievements will trickle in. Trying to chase specific ones can feel grindy.
