Levels and XP
XP (experience points) is the meta-currency of Manga Vault’s achievement system. As you earn achievements, you earn XP — and XP contributes to your overall level.
How to see your level and XP
Open the Social tab → tap your profile card → your level and XP are shown in the profile header.
The Achievements screen also shows total XP at the top.
Earning XP
XP is awarded by:
- Unlocking achievements — Each achievement has an associated XP value (typically 25–200 XP based on rarity).
- Daily streaks — Some daily-engagement achievements grant XP at milestones.
There’s no XP for routine activities like just opening the app — XP is achievement-driven.
Levels
XP rolls up into levels. As you earn XP, you progress through levels:
- Level 1 — Starting level for new users.
- Level 2 — At ~50 XP.
- Level 3 — At ~150 XP.
- … and so on, with increasing XP requirements for higher levels.
The XP-per-level curve scales — early levels are quick to earn, later levels take much more XP. This rewards sustained engagement over the long haul.
Levels are display-only
Your level is a status indicator. It doesn’t unlock features or change app behavior. It’s purely a visualization of how much you’ve engaged with Manga Vault.
The PRO subscription (which actually unlocks features) is separate from levels. Hitting Level 50 doesn’t grant you PRO, and PRO doesn’t grant you levels.
Levels visible to friends
Your level is part of your profile and visible to friends (subject to your Show Achievements privacy toggle).
Friends viewing your profile see something like “Level 23 Collector” or similar tagline. It’s a quick indicator of how active a user is.
The level cap
There isn’t a hard cap on levels — they keep going as long as you keep earning XP. We’ve seen test users approach levels in the high double-digits over months of use.
Resetting XP
XP can’t be reset (without deleting your account entirely). Your XP is yours forever once earned.
XP breakdowns
The Achievements screen shows your total XP with a breakdown by category (Collection, Scanning, Social, etc.). Useful to see where your XP came from and what categories you might focus on next.
Earning XP without grinding
We deliberately design achievements to reward natural use, not grinding. The fastest way to gain XP is to:
- Use Manga Vault as you normally would (scan, organize, read).
- Connect with friends if it suits you (Social achievements).
- Mark reading progress when you actually read (Reading achievements).
If you find yourself doing things just to earn XP that don’t add value to your collection, you’re over-optimizing.
XP and the public profile
Levels appear on your public profile when enabled. It’s a fun “scorecard” element for visitors.
Tip
Levels are most fun viewed over time. Take a screenshot when you hit a milestone (Level 25, Level 50) — it’s nice to look back on.
