Cancelling a scheduled deletion

If you scheduled your account for deletion and changed your mind, you have 30 days to cancel and recover your account.

How to cancel

  1. Open Manga Vault.
  2. Sign in with your email and password (the same credentials as before deletion).
  3. After signing in, a Deletion Recovery modal appears automatically:
    • Title: “Account Scheduled for Deletion”
    • Shows the date deletion will be permanent.
    • Shows your deletion ID for reference.
    • Two buttons: Cancel Deletion and Continue with Deletion.
  4. Tap Cancel Deletion.

After cancellation:

  • Your account is restored to active status.
  • All your data is back (it was never actually deleted — just scheduled).
  • The recovery modal stops appearing.
  • You receive a confirmation email that your deletion has been cancelled.

Why the modal appears every time

Every time you sign in during the grace period, the recovery modal appears as a reminder. We don’t want you to forget your account is scheduled for deletion.

Once you cancel, the modal stops appearing.

What if I don’t cancel and the 30 days pass

Your account is permanently deleted. Recovery is no longer possible — you’d need to create a new account from scratch.

We’ll send a final email confirming permanent deletion has completed.

What if I want to proceed with deletion

Tap Continue with Deletion in the recovery modal (or simply don’t sign in for 30 days). The deletion proceeds at the scheduled date.

If you actively want to expedite (delete now rather than waiting), contact support.

What’s preserved during the grace period

While your account is in soft-deleted state but before final deletion:

  • All your data (volumes, shelves, profile, friends, etc.) is preserved.
  • Friends can’t see you (you’re hidden from their lists).
  • New friend requests aren’t delivered to you.
  • You don’t receive any push notifications.
  • Cancelling restores all of this.

Subscription status during grace period

Your PRO subscription continues to bill (managed by Apple/Google) unless you cancel it separately. If you signed up for deletion but want to also cancel PRO, do that via Apple/Google subscription settings.

If you cancel your account deletion, your subscription is still active (assuming you didn’t separately cancel it). PRO features return to working.

Multiple cancellation/deletion cycles

You can:

  1. Schedule deletion.
  2. Cancel within grace period.
  3. Months later, schedule again.
  4. Cancel again.

Each cycle is independent. The grace-period clock resets each time you re-schedule.

I forgot my password during the grace period

You can reset your password using the same flow as a normal account. The grace period doesn’t lock you out — your account is still authenticatable.

Email notifications

Throughout the deletion process you’ll receive:

  • A scheduled-deletion confirmation when you start.
  • A reminder shortly before the 30-day mark expires (so you have a final chance to cancel).
  • A final permanent-deletion confirmation when the grace period ends.

If you cancel:

  • A cancellation confirmation email.

Tip

Even if you’re confident about deleting, the grace period costs nothing. It’s a safety net. If you change your mind, just sign in within 30 days.

Help

If you need help cancelling — for example, if the recovery modal doesn’t appear or you can’t sign in — contact support with your email and we’ll help recover your account.
