Updating your profile basics
Your Manga Vault profile is what friends see when they view your account or compare collections with you. Setting it up takes a minute and makes you easier to find and connect with.
How to edit your profile
- Open the Social tab.
- Tap your profile card at the top.
- Tap Edit Profile.
You’ll land on the Edit Profile screen with all the fields you can update.
What you can edit
Display name
The friendly name shown on your profile. Use whatever name you’d like friends to know you by — it doesn’t have to be your real name.
Username
Your unique handle (like @yourname). Friends can find you by username when adding friends. Usernames must be unique across all of Manga Vault — if the one you want is taken, try a variation.
Some rules:
- Lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only.
- 3 to 20 characters.
- Can’t change too frequently — leave it alone unless you really need to.
Bio
A short description of you, your favorite genres, what you’re collecting — anything that makes your profile feel like yours. Up to a few hundred characters.
Avatar
Your profile picture. You can choose:
- A built-in icon avatar (manga-themed icons in different colors).
- An uploaded photo from your camera roll (PRO).
Cover image
The banner image on your profile (PRO). Pick something that represents you — your favorite series cover, fan art you have rights to use, or just a nice color.
Favorite genres
Tap the genres you collect or read most. These show up on your profile as tags and help friends understand your taste at a glance.
Privacy
Your profile is private to your friends by default — only people you’ve added as friends can see your collection, stats, and activity. You have detailed control over what’s visible:
- Show / hide your bio
- Show / hide your stats (volumes owned, completion rate)
- Show / hide your activity status (the green “active” dot)
- Show / hide when you joined Manga Vault
- Show / hide your PRO badge
- Allow / block collection comparison
- Show / hide your collection value (PRO)
- Show / hide your collection list

Saving your changes
Tap Save at the top of the Edit Profile screen. You’ll see a quick confirmation toast and your changes will sync to your account immediately.
Want a public-facing profile too?
We support optional Public Profile pages — a shareable URL where anyone (not just friends) can see a curated version of your profile. This is opt-in. To turn it on, scroll down on the Edit Profile screen and toggle Public Profile on.
