MV Manga Vault Help

Public profile pages

A public profile page is a shareable web URL where anyone — not just friends — can see a curated version of your Manga Vault profile. It’s opt-in. By default, your profile is private to friends only.

How to enable your public profile

  1. Open the Social tab → tap your profile card → Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll to the Public Profile section.
  3. Toggle Public Profile on.
  4. Your public URL appears, in the format:
https://mangavault.app/@yourusername

Tap the URL to copy it, or share it via your phone’s share sheet.

What’s visible on a public profile

Public profiles show:

  • Display name and username
  • Avatar and cover image (if set)
  • Bio
  • Favorite genres
  • Verified badge (if applicable)
  • PRO badge (if applicable, subject to your Show PRO Badge privacy)
  • A summary of your collection (volumes owned, series collected — subject to your other privacy toggles)
  • Featured series (if you’ve designated any to spotlight)

What’s NOT visible on a public profile

  • Your friends list
  • Friend activity (green dots)
  • Reading progress / current page
  • Lending records
  • Custom values or condition data
  • Wishlist (currently — may add as opt-in later)
  • Email address or any account/billing info

Privacy of stats

Even on your public profile, your privacy toggles still apply:

  • Show Collection off → Your volume list isn’t shown publicly.
  • Show Achievements off → Achievements, level, XP, and streaks aren’t shown.
  • Show Top Series off → Your top-collected series breakdown is hidden.
  • Show Bio off → Your bio is hidden.

So you can have a public profile that shows just your name and avatar, with no stats — useful for users who want to be findable without sharing data.

Username required

Your public profile URL is based on your username. Without a username set, you can’t enable public profile. See Username rules for naming.

Disabling public profile

Toggle Public Profile off in Edit Profile. The URL becomes inaccessible immediately (anyone trying to visit it sees a “Profile not found” message). Re-enabling re-activates the same URL.

SEO and discoverability

We don’t aggressively promote public profiles to search engines, but Google may index them over time. If you don’t want your profile findable via search, leave Public Profile off.

The “featured series” section on your public profile is a small grid of series you’ve spotlighted as your favorites or what defines your taste. To set it:

  1. From your profile in the Social tab, tap Featured Series.
  2. Pick up to 5 series from your collection to feature.
  3. Save.

These appear prominently on your public profile (and on your friend-visible profile too).

Why use a public profile?

  • Discoverability — Make it easy for fellow collectors, content creators, or potential new friends to find and connect.
  • Sharing your taste — A linkable URL is great for bios on social media, content creator pages, etc.
  • Vanity — Honestly, some collectors love showing off their library.

It’s optional and easy to turn off if you change your mind.
