MV Manga Vault Help

Refreshing your collection

Pull down on the Library tab to refresh your collection from the cloud. Useful when you’ve made changes on another device or want to make sure your data is up to date.

How to refresh

  1. On the Library tab, scroll all the way to the top.
  2. Pull down with your finger and hold briefly.
  3. A spinner appears at the top of the list — release.
  4. The spinner spins while we re-fetch your latest collection data.
  5. When done, the spinner disappears and your library shows the latest data.

What gets refreshed

A pull-to-refresh:

  • Re-fetches your full collection from the cloud (every owned and wishlisted volume).
  • Re-fetches your shelves (in case you created or modified shelves on another device).
  • Re-fetches your reading progress (current page, status).

What doesn’t refresh

  • The catalog itself (cover art, metadata) is refreshed separately. To force a catalog sync, go to Settings → tap Catalog Version.
  • Your friends list, achievements, and other social data refresh when you visit those screens or when relevant events happen.

When you need to refresh

In most cases you shouldn’t need to. The app syncs automatically:

  • On app launch.
  • When the app returns from background after a few minutes.
  • After making changes locally.
  • When changes happen on another device (via push sync).

Manual refresh is for those rare cases where automatic sync didn’t catch something — usually after a long period of being offline, or when working across many devices simultaneously.

What if refresh shows different data than I expect?

If you pull-to-refresh and see fewer volumes (or different statuses) than you expect:

  1. Try again — sometimes a refresh fails silently due to network glitches.
  2. Force-close and reopen the app.
  3. Check Settings → Sync Status for the last successful sync time.

If something is genuinely missing from cloud sync, contact support with the volume’s title or ISBN and we’ll investigate.

Pull-to-refresh works on other tabs too

The Browse tab, Releases calendar, and Friend profiles all support pull-to-refresh with the same gesture. The pulled-down content varies by screen.

Refresh while filtered

Refreshing while a filter is active re-loads your full collection but keeps the filter active. After refresh, you’ll see the filtered subset of the freshly-loaded data.
