MV Manga Vault Help

What “Coming Soon” means

You scanned an ISBN and got a Coming Soon modal instead of the usual Found card. Here’s why and what happens next.

What it means

This volume has been approved for our catalog (someone — maybe you — requested it and our team said yes), but the catalog hasn’t fully published it yet. It’s in a brief in-between state where we have it on file but haven’t pushed it live.

What happens automatically

When you see the Coming Soon modal, the app automatically tries to refresh the catalog in the background. If the catalog has already been published since you last opened the app, the refresh succeeds and the modal disappears, replaced by the normal Found card. You can then add the volume as usual.

If the refresh shows the volume still isn’t live, you’ll see the Coming Soon screen.

Should I do anything?

Usually nothing — just give it a moment and try the scan again. If you scanned within a minute or two of the catalog being published, the modal might go away on a second attempt.

If you want to make sure your catalog is up to date manually, you can force a refresh from Settings (tap the catalog version row in the About section).

How long does Coming Soon usually last?

In most cases, a few minutes — sometimes seconds. The catalog publish step happens shortly after we approve a request. If you’re seeing Coming Soon for hours or days on the same ISBN, the volume may be stuck in our publishing queue. Please contact support and include the ISBN.

Can I add it to my wishlist for now?

Coming Soon volumes can’t be added to your collection or wishlist until they’re fully published. We don’t store partial entries because the metadata is still being finalized. Sit tight and try again shortly — we promise it’s worth the wait.

What’s the difference between “Coming Soon” and “Pending”?

  • Coming Soon — Approved, almost live. You’ll be able to add it very soon.
  • Pending — Requested but not yet reviewed. Could be approved (and become Coming Soon) or rejected. See What “Pending” means.
