Finding and adding a friend

There are three ways to add a friend on Manga Vault: by friend code, by username, or by scanning their QR code.

How to start

Open the Social tab.
Tap Friends to open the friends list.
Tap the + button (or Add Friend) at the top.

The Add Friend screen opens with three tabs: Friend Code, Username, and QR Code.

Method 1 — Friend code

A friend code is a 10-character identifier in the format MANGA-XXXX-XXXX (where each X is a letter or number). Every Manga Vault user has one.

Tap the Friend Code tab.
Enter the code your friend shared with you.
Tap Send Friend Request.

Your friend receives a friend request. They can accept or reject from their Friends list.

Method 2 — Username

If your friend has set a username (the @handle on their profile), you can search by it.

Tap the Username tab.
Type their username (without the @).
Tap Search.
Tap Send Friend Request on their profile card.

If we can’t find them, double-check the spelling. Usernames are case-insensitive.

Method 3 — Scan their QR code

This is the fastest in person.

Tap the QR Code tab.
Grant camera permission if prompted.
Have your friend open Manga Vault → Social → tap their profile card → Show QR Code.
Point your camera at their QR code.
The friend request is sent automatically once we recognize the code.

You can also have them scan your QR code — same flow.

What happens after you send

The other person receives a friend request and sees it in their Pending tab. They can:

Accept — You become friends.
Reject — The request is dismissed (no notification to you).

Tracking your sent requests

In your Friends list, the Sent tab shows requests you’ve sent that haven’t yet been accepted.

You can cancel a sent request from there if you change your mind.

Adding yourself as a friend?

You can’t — Manga Vault won’t let you send a request to your own account.

What if I sent to the wrong person?

Cancel the request from the Sent tab. If they’ve already accepted, just remove them from your Friends list. See Removing a friend.

Privacy

Sending a friend request doesn’t share your collection or profile until the request is accepted. The recipient only sees your basic profile info (display name, username, avatar) until you’re connected.
