Removing a friend

If you no longer want to be friends with someone on Manga Vault, you can remove them at any time.

How to remove a friend

Open the Social tab → Friends.
Tap the friend you want to remove.
On their friend profile page, tap the Remove button (top-right of the screen).
A confirmation modal appears: “Remove [Name] from your friends?”
Tap Remove to confirm.

What happens when you remove a friend

They’re removed from your Friends list and you from theirs.
You both lose access to each other’s collections, stats, and comparison data.
Any active lending records between you remain — they’re a permanent transaction record.
Neither of you is notified of the removal.
They can send a new friend request later if they want to reconnect; you’d need to accept it.

Re-adding a removed friend

If you change your mind:

Search for them by username or friend code.
Send a new friend request.
They’ll accept (or not) — same flow as a new friendship.

Your old data isn’t restored automatically — the friendship starts fresh, but you’ll see each other’s current collections immediately once accepted.

Lending records when a friend is removed

If you’ve lent volumes to a friend and you remove the friendship:

The lending records stay in your Lending Tracker.
The borrower’s name shows as their former display name (we cache it).
You can mark the loan as returned normally.

If you want to fully clean up, delete the lending records before removing the friend.

Active vs old friendships

Your Friends list shows only currently-active friendships. There’s no archive of removed friends. If you want to keep a historical list, export your data before removing — the export includes your current friends list.

Blocking vs removing

Removing a friend ends the friendship. If they keep sending you new requests:

Reject the requests as they come in.
Block functionality is coming soon — it’ll prevent further requests.

Tip: Communicate first

Before silently removing a long-time friend, consider sending them a message outside Manga Vault if it’s an active relationship. Removing without explanation can be confusing for both sides.
