Your friend code (MANGA-XXXX-XXXX)

Your friend code is a unique 10-character ID in the format MANGA-XXXX-XXXX. Sharing it lets others send you a friend request without needing your username or email.

Where to find your code

1. Open the Social tab.
2. Tap your profile card at the top.
3. Your friend code is displayed on the profile.

You can also find it on the Add Friend screen — there’s a “Your Friend Code” section that shows yours.

How to share it

A few options:

• Tap your code to copy it to your clipboard. Paste it into a message, email, or anywhere else.
• Tap the share icon to use your phone’s share sheet (iMessage, Mail, etc.).
• Show your QR code — tap the QR icon next to your code. A QR code appears that your friend can scan from their phone.

The four characters in each block are random letters and numbers. The codes are case-insensitive (entering manga-3kfv-7gza works the same as the uppercase version).

Why a friend code instead of just username?

Friend codes are useful because:

• Anyone can have a code. Even if you haven’t set a username, you have a friend code from day one.
• Codes are stable. You can change your username, but your friend code never changes.
• Codes are unambiguous. Usernames have to be unique among Manga Vault users; friend codes are guaranteed unique by their format.
• Codes are share-friendly. Easier to type than a long username, and the QR code makes in-person sharing instant.

Can I customize my friend code?

No — friend codes are auto-generated and can’t be changed. They’re meant to be unambiguous identifiers, not personal expressions. (For that, set a username.)

Privacy

Your friend code only allows others to send you a friend request — it doesn’t give them access to your profile, collection, or any data. You still have to accept the request before any sharing happens.

What if someone abuses my code?

If you’re getting unwanted friend requests, you can:

• Reject each request as it comes in.
• Block the user (coming soon — block list management).

We don’t currently allow regenerating your friend code, but we may add that as an option in the future for users who want a fresh start.

Where to use a friend code you receive

1. Open the Social tab → Friends → + (Add Friend) → Friend Code tab.
2. Type or paste the code.
3. Tap Send Friend Request.
