Secret achievements
Some achievements are hidden until you unlock them. These secret achievements show up in your Achievements screen as ”?” until earned.
Why secrets?
Secret achievements add an element of surprise and discovery. The criteria aren’t obvious from the description, so unlocking one feels like uncovering a small Easter egg.
We use them sparingly — most achievements are visible with descriptions and progress bars from day one.
How they appear when locked
In the Achievements screen, locked secret achievements show:
- Name: ”?” or “Secret Achievement”
- Description: “Unlock to reveal”
- Icon: A question-mark or generic placeholder
- Progress: Usually no progress bar shown
You can see they exist, but not what they’re for.
How they appear when unlocked
Once you unlock a secret achievement, all its details reveal:
- Real name
- Description of what triggered it
- Icon
- XP earned
The standard “Achievement Unlocked!” modal also fires.
Examples (without spoilers)
We won’t list specific secret achievements here (that defeats the purpose). They typically reward:
- Unusual or quirky behaviors
- Specific milestone moments
- Easter-egg interactions
- Themed events (seasonal, anniversary)
Tip: Don’t hunt them
The fun of secret achievements is unlocking them organically. If you go looking for guides on what triggers them, you’ll lose the surprise — and many are based on natural use anyway.
Multiple secrets
You can have multiple secret achievements at once. They all show as ”?” in the locked list. As you unlock each, they’re individually revealed.
Achievement count
The total achievement count on the Achievements screen header includes secrets — even ones you haven’t unlocked yet count toward the total. So you can see the percentage of all achievements you’ve earned, even ones whose existence is hidden.
Reporting incorrect secrets
If you think a secret achievement was awarded incorrectly (or not awarded when it should have been), contact support. We’ll look into it.
Adding new secrets
We add new achievements (including secrets) periodically — usually with app updates. Your existing achievements aren’t affected.
Privacy
Secret achievements (when unlocked) appear in your achievements list visible to friends, just like regular achievements. There’s no extra privacy distinction.
