Redeeming an offer code (free month of PRO)
We hand out offer codes a few ways: as referral rewards, at conventions and community events, in promos, and occasionally from support. Whatever the source, a code gives you free time on Manga Vault PRO.
One important thing first: codes are platform-specific. A code from an iPhone promotion won’t work on Android, and vice versa — events that cover both platforms hand out a separate code for each. Use the code meant for your device, exactly as written.
On iPhone
Any of these works — use whichever fits how you got the code:
1. Tap the redemption link (easiest). If you got the code via a link or QR code, just tap or scan it. The App Store opens with the code already filled in — one tap on Redeem and you’re done. This works even if you haven’t installed Manga Vault yet; the App Store offers you the download right after.
2. In the app (version 1.0.4 or later): open Settings → Subscription → Redeem Code and type the code into Apple’s redemption sheet.
3. In the App Store app: tap your profile picture (top right) → Redeem Gift Card or Code → enter the code.
On Android
Android codes are redeemed inside the app’s upgrade flow:
- Install Manga Vault and create your account.
- Tap Upgrade to PRO.
- In Google’s purchase sheet, tap the arrow next to the payment method.
- Choose Redeem code and enter it.
The free period applies instead of a charge.
After you redeem
- PRO unlocks right away — if the app is open and doesn’t show PRO within a minute, close and reopen it.
- When the free period ends, the subscription continues at the normal price unless you cancel. Cancelling right after redeeming is fine — you keep PRO for the entire free period either way. See Managing your subscription.
If the code won’t redeem
- “Invalid code” — check for typos (codes aren’t case-sensitive, but every character matters), make sure it’s the code for your platform, and note that codes expire after their promotion ends.
- “Already redeemed” — codes work once per Apple/Google account.
- New-subscriber promos — some promotions (especially on Android) are only for accounts that have never had a PRO subscription before.
- Redeemed but PRO isn’t showing — reopen the app; if it still doesn’t appear, use Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases (more here).
