Restoring a previous PRO purchase
If you’ve previously subscribed to PRO and your subscription is active but Manga Vault thinks you’re FREE, Restore Purchases brings your PRO status back.
When you’d need to restore
- After reinstalling the app.
- After signing into Manga Vault on a new device.
- After signing out and back in.
- After an iOS / Android update that may have cleared local subscription cache.
How to restore
- Open Settings.
- Tap Restore Purchases (in the Subscription or About section).
- Wait a few seconds while we check your Apple ID / Google account for active subscriptions.
If a valid PRO subscription is found, your account flips back to PRO immediately. PRO features unlock.
If no subscription is found, you’ll see a message — your Apple ID / Google account doesn’t have an active Manga Vault subscription. (If you believe this is wrong, see “Troubleshooting” below.)
Apple ID / Google account requirement
Restore Purchases checks for subscriptions purchased with the currently signed-in Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android). If you bought PRO using a different Apple ID than what’s currently on the device, restore won’t find it.
Subscription is per Apple ID / Google account
Your PRO subscription lives on the Apple ID / Google account that paid for it — not your Manga Vault account directly. If you switch Apple IDs (rare), you may lose access to a subscription paid by the old one.
This is how Apple and Google manage subscriptions, not a Manga Vault choice.
Troubleshooting
”No active subscription found”
- Verify you’re signed in with the same Apple ID / Google account that originally bought PRO.
- Check the App Store / Play Store directly (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS) to verify the subscription is active.
- Make sure your subscription isn’t expired (it can lapse if a payment method failed).
Subscription is active in App Store but Manga Vault still says FREE
This is unusual. Try:
- Force-close and reopen Manga Vault.
- Tap Restore Purchases again.
- If still stuck, sign out of Manga Vault and sign back in (this re-syncs your account state).
If still not working, contact support with:
- Your Manga Vault email
- Your subscription receipt details (from Apple/Google)
- A screenshot of your subscription status
We’ll manually check and fix the linkage.
I subscribed on iOS, now using Android
iOS and Android subscriptions are separate. To use PRO on Android after subscribing on iOS:
- You’d need to subscribe again on Android.
- Cancel the iOS subscription if you’re done with iOS.
We’re working on a unified cross-platform experience but it’s not available yet.
Family Sharing (iOS)
If your PRO subscription was purchased by a family-shared Apple ID member, restore should pull it in via Family Sharing. If it doesn’t, check that Family Sharing is enabled in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Family Sharing.
Tip: Restore doesn’t cost anything
Restoring is free and safe — it just verifies your existing entitlement with Apple/Google. You won’t be double-charged or have anything new ordered. Tap with confidence.
Privacy
Restoring sends a request to Apple’s or Google’s servers (and to ours) to check your subscription status. We don’t see your payment details — only whether you have an active subscription.
