MV Manga Vault Help

Why my friend can’t see my collection value or stats

If a friend says “I can’t see your collection value” or “Your stats look hidden”, the most likely cause is a privacy toggle on your account. Here’s how to diagnose.

Common causes

Cause 1 — Show Value is off (and it defaults to off)

Show Value controls whether the dollar amount of your collection is visible to friends. It’s the only privacy toggle that defaults to off — we ask you to opt in to share dollar value.

To turn it on:

  1. Open Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll to Privacy.
  3. Toggle Show Value on.
  4. Tap Save.

Cause 2 — Show Achievements is off

Show Achievements controls whether your achievements, level, XP, and streaks are visible. If it’s off, those parts of your profile are hidden.

Defaults to on. To check, open Edit Profile → Privacy → make sure Show Achievements is on.

Cause 3 — Show Top Series is off

Show Top Series controls whether the “Top Series” breakdown on your profile (your most-collected series) is visible. Defaults to on.

Cause 4 — Show Collection is off

Show Collection controls whether your full collection list (every volume) is visible. If off, friends can’t see specific volumes, and the In Common / Unique comparison tabs stop working.

Defaults to on.

Cause 5 — Allow Comparison is off

Allow Comparison specifically blocks the In Common / Unique tabs and the “Series in Common” highlight card. It doesn’t hide your stats directly, but if your friend was specifically looking at the comparison view, that’s why they couldn’t see anything there.

Defaults to on.

Cause 6 — Your friend is on FREE

The dollar value of your collection requires the viewer to have PRO too. A FREE friend may see ”$ ---” even if your Show Value is on. This isn’t your privacy setting — it’s their subscription tier.

Step-by-step privacy audit

To make sure everything is set how you want:

  1. Open Edit Profile.
  2. Tap to expand the Privacy section.
  3. Read each toggle and verify it’s set to your preference.
  4. If you’ve made changes, tap Save.

See Privacy toggles for the full list of all ten toggles.

Why my settings keep changing back

Privacy settings sync across devices and persist permanently — they don’t reset on their own. If you save a setting and it appears to flip back, the change might not have synced. Force a sync from Settings → Catalog Version (which also forces an account data sync).

If the issue persists, contact support.

Defaults

Most privacy toggles default to on (Show Bio, Show Favorite Genre, Show Member Since, Show PRO Badge, Show Activity Status, Show Achievements, Show Top Series, Show Collection, Allow Comparison). The exception is Show Value, which defaults off since dollar value is more sensitive.

Tip: Test it with a friend

The fastest way to verify your privacy settings are working as intended is to ask a friend to take a screenshot of your profile and send it to you. You’ll see exactly what they see.
